Please make sure that your IAEE membership is active to register.  IAEE Global Login

The International Association for Energy Economics is an independent, non-profit organization for business, government, academic and other professionals applying economics in concert with other disciplines to enhance understanding of all aspects of energy production and use. The Association is global in scope and membership and covers the full range of energy industry participants—including businesses, academia, scientific and other research institutions, consultants, governments, and intergovernmental institutions. Students are welcome to join at reduced rates and participate in special programming and awards opportunities.

The IAEE was founded in 1977 to provide an interdisciplinary forum for the exchange of ideas about the energy industry. Today, the IAEE focuses on three main activities: publications, conferences, and education. This brochure provides more information about membership benefits.

Dues rates vary according to international income categories established by the World Bank. The IAEE Council adopted these standards to create an equitable approach to  expanding IAEE’s outreach in emerging and developing countries. Please visit the IAEE website for details.

Student Participation at Conferences

A student is someone who is enrolled in a degree-granting program (either undergraduate or graduate) at an institution of higher learning and registered full-time according to the definition of his/her respective academic institution, and who is not employed full-time. Students must submit written verification from a professor or other verifiable school authority at their institution attesting to their full-time student status when making an application. In particular, note that post-docs and part-time students would not qualify as students for IAEE purposes.

The requirement must be met at the time of initial submission of research to the conference in question. Thus, a member who is a full-time student at the time of initial submission of research for presentation at a IAEE conference will be eligible to participate in events designated for students even if that person's status changes such that he/she is employed full-time at the time of the conference in question. Please download student verification form at Student Definition (iaee.org)

Students must submit student verification form attesting to their student status.

Note: Only one pdf document should be uploaded during registration. Therefore, the student verification form should be uploaded to the system as a single pdf file.

Young Professional Participation at Conferences

For two years after graduation from a full-time education program, qualified young professionals ( up to 35 years old) may attend IAEE Conferences by paying a discounted registration rate. The requirement must be met at the time of the initial submission of an abstract to the Conference. A young professional must submit one of the following written verifications attesting to their young professional status: Copy of their transcript from the institution they attended within the last two years A written letter from their faculty advisor attesting that they were a full-time student within the last two years To verify that an individual's age is less than 35, a copy of a driver's license or other government-issued identity card (e.g., passport) will need to be submitted to IAEE. Note: Only one pdf document should be uploaded during registration. Therefore, the Young Professional verification letter and copy of the identity card should be combined and uploaded to the system as a single pdf file.

Spouse/Guest Registration Fees

Spouses or accompanying persons receive the lowest registration fee. Their fee should only cover the costs of the opening/welcome reception, evening gala dinner function(s), and social event attendance rights. Spouses/accompanying persons do not have access to conference meetings.

Format for Full-Text

Submitting the full paper is optional.

If you would like to send the full abstract, there is no specific template for the full paper, nor do we have any particular expectations regarding topic headings and content. However, you should pay attention to the following points to ensure compliance with the format:

"Manuscripts should be double-spaced using a 12-point font on pages 8.5 x 11 inches or the metric equivalent.
